From the Stalls
Scout DunbarApril, 2021
Tiny Town Gallery is pleased to present From the Stalls by Scout Dunbar (she/her) for the month of May 2021.
"My whimsical pony drawings are an homage to childhood and the horses my family’s life was centered around. I have carried these memories with me to the Southwest, and use drawing as a tool to help me reflect on the past, while staying grounded in the present. Most of my work is made with ink, colored pencil, and oil pastel. Working with these simple drawing materials helps me maintain a connection to my inner child by expressing ideas spontaneously and freely. The title of each pony drawing in this show will be based on the names of horses who occupied our stable."
Scout Dunbar is a third generation female artist from Ithaca, NY. She graduated from Alfred University in 2011, and has exhibited nationally and internationally. After spending time making work in New York City followed by Santa Fe, New Mexico, Dunbar relocated to Tucson where she continues to be inspired by the Sonoran Desert and Southwest.
